About the Role

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operations Manager to lead our engineering team and ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our buildings, equipment, and services to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Management: Direct and coach a team of engineers to achieve our maintenance and repair goals, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  2. Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our buildings, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry work, to ensure that they are safe, secure, and comfortable for our guests.
  3. Supply Chain Management: Manage the ordering and inventory of parts and supplies, minimizing waste and ensuring that we meet our sustainability goals.
  4. Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Be flexible and able to respond to unexpected situations and tasks, using your expertise and experience to find solutions and resolve issues.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including guests, regulatory agencies, and suppliers, to ensure that we provide excellent service and meet our obligations.

Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: A degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or facilities management, and at least four years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Specialized Expertise: Proven expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields, with specialized certifications and licenses as required by law.
  3. Hotel Experience: Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a similar role, would be an asset.
  4. Professional Certification and License: Possession of relevant professional certifications and licenses, such as Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber, and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter.
