Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead our advertising sales efforts. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, managing key client relationships, and overseeing the performance of a sales team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the media landscape, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in advertising sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, advertising agencies, and industry partners.
  • Manage agency coverage and relations, ensuring strong partnerships and maximizing advertising opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, editorial, and product development, to create compelling advertising solutions that meet client needs.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in advertising sales, with at least 5 years in a team leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in the media industry.
  • Strong network of contacts within the advertising and media industry.
  • Experience in managing agency relations and coverage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop innovative sales solutions.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
